Main Objective

The main objective of the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology Company Limited Operational Policy and Procedures is to provide a framework for execution and implementation of all major functions of the Company thereby contributing more effectively to income generation, addressing societal problems and enhancing quality of teaching and learning as well as research production and innovation.

Specific Objective

Specifically the Company will: -

i) Provide a platform through which DIT can transfer its research findings quicker than it is the case today and contribute effectively towards industrial development in Tanzania.

ii) Enable the Institute generate income to supplement grants/reimbursements from the Government and other donors to meet its financial needs.

iii) Facilitate the development of a culture of job creation which will also contribute towards providing to Institute’s students industrial practical training opportunities.

iv) Reduce time lag between research discovery/findings and social returns from its application.

v) Enable DIT staff to supplement their income by applying their research findings to address real life problems thereby enhancing staff retention.
